A while back I posted a video titled, How to Make Mint.com Useful - Part 1. This blog post made me realize something that I really had no appreciation for in the past. People actually read and watch this blog. I knew that I had at least 1.5 readers. My mom checks it every morning and my dad reads it once in a while but there are others. All joking aside I knew this was the case thanks to Google Analytics but I figured it was random people and I had no idea if anyone was getting anything out of it. In talking to other bloggers I can tell you that one of the most frustrating things about blogging is getting no comments. I write this stuff for a couple of reasons. The main one is that this is like a journal for me. I write to help get ideas out of my head and mature them a little. I would be completely geeked about this blog if people reading this started to have a conversation in the comments around what they read. I am still figuring out the art to this. After a few years of doing this I realize that a big part of having a conversation is going to where others want to have a conversation and joining their's first. The Field of Dreams Strategy of build it and they will come only works so much.
Since I posted the Mint.com post, I have had 3-4 people that are outside my family and close friends tell me that they really enjoyed that post and more importantly wanted to know where is Part 2? Some of them told me they made their wife watch it. I was shocked and flattered that people are actually getting value out of my ramblings. So for everyone out there who is waiting for Part 2 I apologize for not getting to it sooner. I will have it posted soon. I have been working on a video that shows you in detail about what I do. Since this involves my finances I have to take some care to do it in a way that I don't expose myself in the wrong way.
What those conversations have really got me thinking about is the need for a better system. We will talk about that in a later post but this is a subject I would really really like some feedback on because money is an issue that about 99% of us have. Stay tuned for Part 2 and thanks for taking the time to be here.
